Your Lessons
Private music lessons can be a fun and enriching experience at any age or level. Beaumont Community Music welcomes beginners to advanced musicians. Students and instructors will determine together that your goals and needs are. Some students may choose to work towards classically oriented exams; others may be interested in learning pop, rock, jazz, or folk music. Whatever your goal, your lessons will be tailored to suit you, while learning the important fundamentals of music and your instrument. 



The Instructors

Beaumont Community Music is committed to maintaining a high standard of professionalism and musical integrity. Instructors are selected on the basis of their formal music education, teaching experience, and references, with an emphasis on musicianship and teaching ability. In addition to their credentials, our instructors are thoughtful and caring individuals who have dedicated themselves to nurturing their student's musical enjoyment and progress. Instruction Year

The instruction year consists of 36 lessons - see LESSON CALENDAR. Throughout the year, a maximum of two recitals may be substituted for regular lessons, at the instructor's discretion. Recitals are important educational tools. learning to perform for others are important aspects of music lessons.


Scheduling

Most lessons take place between 3:00 and 9:00 pm. Some daytime instruction is available for home-school students, adults, and regular school students who are unable to arrange after-school or evening lessons (depending on instructor availability).


Registering for Lessons

Returning students who re-register between April 1st and May 30th are guaranteed a lesson spot for September. Scheduling is done on a first-come, first-served basis. After May 30th, remaining lesson spots are opened up to new students as well.

New students who wish to start lessons in September may also register after April 1st. We will contact you after May 30th (in the order that registrations were received) to book your lesson time for September

New students may begin lessons at any time during the instruction year if there are spaces available. If there are no spaces available, we recommend putting your name on our waiting-list, so we can contact you if something becomes available.

Instruments & Instructional Materials

Beaumont Community Music does not sell or rent instruments, but we can recommend reputable retailers that do. Also, your instructor will be happy to answer any questions you may have about choosing an appropriate instrument.
